Strawberry Rhubarb Fruit Pies

I am sharing a really easy recipe for Semi Homemade Strawberry Rhubarb Fruit Pies.  They are really easy to make and delicious.  You could make them with any store bought pie filling, I happened to buy a strawberry rhubarb pie filling, and was not disappointed at all.

Strawberry Rhubarb Fruit Pies

Ingredients:

2 Pillsbury Pie Crusts
1 jar strawberry rhubarb pie filling

Directions:

1.  Preheat oven to 450 degrees and spray a sheet with non stick cooking spray.

2.  Cut 3 5 inch circles from each pie crust.  I used a sauce pan lid to cut the circles.

2.  Put 3 TB on one half of each pie crust.

3.  Then fold the pie crust over the filling and fold the edges of the crust to seal in the filling.

4.  Next take a sharp knife and put 2 half inch slits in the top of each pie.

5.  Bake for 16 to 20 minutes or until crust is golden.

Makes 6 individual pies.

I hope that you like this easy recipe.  It's a great desert to go into your kids lunches, or for a cute, easy desert for company.  I alway love hearing from you.

Enjoy!!!

Drunken Gummy Bears - Fail

Today I was going to share Drunken Gummy Bears with all of you.  Unfortunately, this recipe was a fail.  I found several blogs online that had Gummy Bears soaked in vodka.  I followed the directions, but they really just turned into a huge blob in the vodka.  I also didn't really love the taste.  They really had a strong vodka taste, rather then the vodka tasting like gummy bears.  I was sad that they weren't as good at the jelly bean infused vodka.  I am going to share the recipe with all of you, and you may want to do some research also, maybe you can make a better batch then I did.

Drunken Gummy Bears

Ingredients:

1 8 oz bag of gummy bears
1 1/4 cups good vodka (I used Ketel One)

Directions:

1.  Put the gummy bears in a jar.  I used a one pint mason jar.

2.  Pour the vodka over the gummy bears.

3.  Let sit for 2 to 3 weeks.

4.  After 2 weeks they tasted just okay, but were kind of a huge chunk of gummy bears

5.  After week 3 they were a little more separate, but still tasted pretty strong.  They may be more like jello shots then anything else, but they are very loose and liquidy.

Makes a 1 pint jar of Drunken Gummies

Sorry, that I don't have something better for you today.  Next week I will make sure to have a great Happy Hour Cocktail.

Have a great weekend.

Oopsies - Gluten Free Bread

Today we have a recipe for Oopsies which is a gluten free bread recipe.  I found the recipe at  The Diet Doctor and it's good.  It does not taste like traditional bread, but it tasted really great with cream cheese, like a bagel.  I am always up for trying a new recipe and I will make this one again

Oopsies

Ingredients:

3 eggs
3 1/2 oz cream cheese softened
pinch of salt
1/2 TB Fiberhusk / psyllium seed husks ( can be excluded) ( I used my Renew Life Organic Triple Fiber with flaxseed, oat bran, and acacia)
1/2 tsp baking powder

Directions:

1. Separate your eggs.  Yolks in one bowl and whites in another.

2.  Whip your egg whites with salt until very stiff.

3.  In a separate bowl mix your egg yolks, cream cheese, fiber, and  baking powder until well blended.  (I used the fiber and baking powder and found that they made it taste more like bread)

4.  Fold your egg whites into the egg yolk mixture very gently so that your egg whites don't break down.

5.  Spray a baking sheet with non stick cooking spray and put 6 to 8 Oopsies on the baking sheet.  I did 6 Oopsies and each one was a little smaller then a salad plate.

6. Bake at 300 degrees for 25 minutes or until golden.

Makes 6 to 8 Oopsies.

You can use them as bread, a hot dog bun, or you can try using or two for hamburger buns.  Again, I spread cream cheese on mine and it was delicious eating it like a bagel.  I tasted one plain, it was a little eggy tasting, so I probably would not eat on plain.

I hope you like this recipe.  I thought is was good, a little limited in use, but good.  I always love hearing from you.

Enjoy!!!

Wire Ring Tutorial 3 - Twisted Knot

Today I am doing a Wire Ring Tutorial 3 - Twisted Knot.  I have been having a lot of fun making these delicate rings with silver wire, and it seems like the sky is the limit.  Pinterest has some really pretty ideas, also.  This is another design of mine and it's pretty simple.  You can get silver wire and basic tools like needle nose pliers, wire cutters and a mandrel at Hobby Lobby or Michaels. On one blog I even saw someone using a chapstick tube instead of a mandrel.  I thought this was a great idea for someone starting out and not wanting to invest a lot of money.

Twisted Knot Wire Ring Tutorial

Supplies:

Silver Wire 18 gauge (can be silver or any color, I used sterling silver but I also have some silver plated.)
wire cutters
needle nose pliers
Mandrel or chapstick container for sizing and shape
Emory board or metal file (you can use the one from your nail clippers even)

Directions:

1.  Cut a piece of silver wire about 3 inches long.

2.  Bend your wire around the back side of your mandrel to the size that you want your ring to be, leaving the two sides straight up over the top of the mandrel.

3.  Next twist the two parts of the wire in the opposite direction around each other using your needle nose pliers.

4.  Then pull both wires together and twist them together standing up straight.

5.  Once your done twisting your two pieces of wire together, file the ends, so that they're not sharp.

6.  Next starting twisting the two wires together around in a circle to form your Knot.

7.  As you turn your wire in a circle start bending the second turn down and under the first turn.

8.  Use your needle nose pliers to adjust your know to look the way you want.  I pushed the ends under, and adjusted the knot a little to be more centered.

This little Twisted Knot Wire Ring came out came out really cute.  It is so delicate and pretty.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me (make sure that you are not a no-comment blogger, other I can't respond by email and it becomes difficult for me to try to reply to your questions).  I always love hearing from you.

John 3 - Born Again

Last week we read Psalm 24 and this week we will be reading John 3 - Born Again.  In Psalm 24 we learn the things that God wants us to do to be with him in heaven.  These are very difficult rules to live up to.  This week we will read in John 3, about the promise of redemption through Jesus.  It's so beautiful.

John 3

(Joh 3:1)  There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:

(Joh 3:2)  The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.

(Joh 3:3)  Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

(Joh 3:4)  Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?

(Joh 3:5)  Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

(Joh 3:6)  That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

(Joh 3:7)  Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

(Joh 3:8)  The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.

(Joh 3:9)  Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be?

(Joh 3:10)  Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things?

(Joh 3:11)  Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness.

(Joh 3:12)  If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?

(Joh 3:13)  And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.

(Joh 3:14)  And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:

(Joh 3:15)  That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

(Joh 3:16)  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

(Joh 3:17)  For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

(Joh 3:18)  He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

(Joh 3:19)  And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

(Joh 3:20)  For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

(Joh 3:21)  But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

(Joh 3:22)  After these things came Jesus and his disciples into the land of Judaea; and there he tarried with them, and baptized.

(Joh 3:23)  And John also was baptizing in Aenon near to Salim, because there was much water there: and they came, and were baptized.

(Joh 3:24)  For John was not yet cast into prison.

(Joh 3:25)  Then there arose a question between some of John's disciples and the Jews about purifying.

(Joh 3:26)  And they came unto John, and said unto him, Rabbi, he that was with thee beyond Jordan, to whom thou barest witness, behold, the same baptizeth, and all men come to him.

(Joh 3:27)  John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven.

(Joh 3:28)  Ye yourselves bear me witness, that I said, I am not the Christ, but that I am sent before him.

(Joh 3:29)  He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom's voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled.

(Joh 3:30)  He must increase, but I must decrease.

(Joh 3:31)  He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all.

(Joh 3:32)  And what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth; and no man receiveth his testimony.

(Joh 3:33)  He that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is true.

(Joh 3:34)  For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him.

(Joh 3:35)  The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand.

(Joh 3:36)  He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

I hope you enjoyed today's reading.  I always love hearing from you.

Have a blessed day.
