Mink Collar Sweaters

I love this little Mink Collar Sweater.  I made one a few years ago for my mom, and I decided that I was going to make another one for a gift for Christmas this year.  It is super easy to make, and it is removable, so you can wash the sweater still.

Here is how you make this cute Mink Collar Sweater.

Supplies:

1 cardigan round neck
1 mink collar
5 snaps
needle
black thread
tailors chalk
tape measure

Directions:

Measure and mark with a piece of chalk or something that will rub off of the knit sweater.

Put marks with the tailors chalk at each side of the front opening of the neckline, one mark in the center of the back,  and then measure halfway in between the back and the front put a mark for your next 2 snaps.

Sew one side of the snaps onto the neckline of the sweater at each chalk mark.

Next, mark the spots on the mink collar to coincide with the same spots as on the sweater.

Sew the snaps on the bottom of the collar.

Snap it to the sweater and your are done.  You now have a mink collar sweater.

Note:  I find the collars on women's coats at thrift shops and remove them, to use on sweaters.  The collars come in different shades of mink.  You could use lighter shades with lighter sweaters.  Have fun and experiment.

I hope you love this sweater as much as I do.  I'm making a red fox collar sweater for me, and I'll post that once I'm done.  I always love hearing from you.

Enjoy and Merry Christmas.

Island Punch Cooler for Friday's Happy Hour

I made these great Island Punch Coolers our first Friday in our new home in Florida. It was so fun. We didn't have any out door furniture yet, and barely any indoor furniture, so we took our folding chairs outside and had our cocktails out there. They were delicious and tropical, which was perfect to for 70 degree weather at 7:00PM in December. It was really fun a we loved sitting outside in the warm weather looking at the canal and dock out back and enjoyed the delicious drinks.

Here is a picture of the back.

Modge Podge Poinsettia Pots

I love the way these little Modge Podge Poinsettia Pots came out. They were really easy, and I can use them all year with different types of flowers and plants. I also love the idea that I am making something out of trash.  I'm re purposing my cans, and I love the way they look.

Now for the directions.

Modge Podge Poinsettia Pots

Supplies

Modge Podge
2 28 oz empty cans
2 6 inch pieces of mesh cut to the size of the cans
2 3 inch pieces of wire edged ribbon for a bow about 2 feet each
1 foam brush or paint brush

Directions:

Use a paint brush or foam brush to brush modge podge on your can.

Then carefully wrap the mesh around the can painting mesh with the modge podge as you go, starting with one end and slowly working your way around the can until they overlap by about 1/2 inch.

Next brush the modge podge over the fabric all around the can, so that the fabric is totally covered in modge podge.

Set on a paper plate to dry over night.

The next day fold the extra mesh at the top of the can to the inside of the can.

Next using a hot glue gun, glue one end of the ribbon to the can.

Then  wrap the ribbon around the can and fold the ribbon under and glue the folded over end over the previously glued part of the ribbon.

Next I will show a picture for how to make the bow.

Fold the ribbon like above and then tie a 5 inch piece around the center of the folded pieces and twist in the back

Then use your hot glue gun to and dab the glue on the back of the can.  Then stick your bow into the glue so it stick to the can.

This is my table set with the Modge Podge Poinsettia Pots and my Rhinestone Jars.

I love the way this pot came out, and I hope that you like this cute Modge Podge Poinsettia Pot, also.  I always love hearing from you.

Have a great week and Merry Christmas.
