Mink Collar Sweaters

I love this little Mink Collar Sweater.  I made one a few years ago for my mom, and I decided that I was going to make another one for a gift for Christmas this year.  It is super easy to make, and it is removable, so you can wash the sweater still.

Here is how you make this cute Mink Collar Sweater.

Supplies:

1 cardigan round neck
1 mink collar
5 snaps
needle
black thread
tailors chalk
tape measure

Directions:

Measure and mark with a piece of chalk or something that will rub off of the knit sweater.

Put marks with the tailors chalk at each side of the front opening of the neckline, one mark in the center of the back,  and then measure halfway in between the back and the front put a mark for your next 2 snaps.

Sew one side of the snaps onto the neckline of the sweater at each chalk mark.

Next, mark the spots on the mink collar to coincide with the same spots as on the sweater.

Sew the snaps on the bottom of the collar.

Snap it to the sweater and your are done.  You now have a mink collar sweater.

Note:  I find the collars on women's coats at thrift shops and remove them, to use on sweaters.  The collars come in different shades of mink.  You could use lighter shades with lighter sweaters.  Have fun and experiment.

I hope you love this sweater as much as I do.  I'm making a red fox collar sweater for me, and I'll post that once I'm done.  I always love hearing from you.

Enjoy and Merry Christmas.
